The most refreshing Pint of Cider!

September 2, 2010 Leave a comment

One of the growing sectors in new-media is the innovative real-time use of Audio-Visuals and Visual aided content usage on websites that users like to spend time on. Digital Agency – Lean Mean Fighting Machine has come up with an innovative idea, after being inspired by sunny afternoons and appreciation for cold cider, says Sam Ball from LMFM.

They created a campaign for their client Strongbrow, where a full pint of Strongbow pint appeared on this page specially designed for the brand. All that participants had to do was to simply hit the refresh button to take a sip from the pint. Who would do such a simple thing? People who were bored in offices and their workplaces, are always on lookout for such fun activities which they can enjoy and later share with their friends too. Therefore it clicked off and close to 1 million sips have already been taken from the pint. In fact, at the time of writing this blog post, Strongbow has again filled the glass with more sips so that they can keep the contest going. Winners can receive prizes ranging from festival tickets, cinema systems and packs of Strongbow. Well, beauty of advertising lies in simplicity of idea execution also. Isn’t it? Ben Clapp from Elvis Communications raises a glass to this amazing campaign.

Beware! Money laundering through iTunes in UK

August 24, 2010 Leave a comment

Normally I do not tend to feature these kind of articles on this blog, as this may tend to impart some negative information to a lot many individuals, but this one is being featured here to make you aware of keeping your finances and your money safe.
12 individuals have recently been charged in UK, with laundering huge amounts of money through iTunes. They use to upload music tracks and put them up for selling through iTunes’ digital music delivery services. In total, they were able to launder a total of $300,000 across just 4 months.
Just for your records, if I had scared some iTunes user with this article, this scheme does not reveal a security vulnerability with iTunes or any of other software company’s services, this method stands as one of the many ways people use to steal money through credit cards.
If ever you see a third party transaction on your bank statements, just contact your bank and they should be able to help you with getting back your money.
